Worldbuilding
There’s truly nothing more exciting to me than creating the ‘building blocks’ for a fictional world. We all have individual fantasies and galaxies running scenarios inside of our own heads- and to realize and actualize those worlds is a process both taxing and rewarding.
Currently, I am building up a world of a vast and whimsical nature. I plan to develop this world into many projects- projects that I’ve always wanted to get my hands on (like trading cards, RPGs, etc.), and to have a solid, concrete world to build out these projects has been VERY helpful. Additionally, the visual development and direction of art in creating a singular, consistent world is wonderful practice
Worldbuilding is such a vague term- what does it mean? Well, it’s the combination of writing and developing a world- in order to add context to the environment and affairs of man. History, the laws of the universe, technologies… all of these are used to give context to fictional realities- to make them feel real enough to believe in.
Good world building comes from an understanding of reality, and then a manipulation of its contents. Changing even just a few factors can be all the difference needed. Then, consistent shape/ color language and attention to lore and detail in visual designs will usually seal the deal.
You can find all the examples of world-building (mostly visually) throughout the website, and most notably here:
